This week Unit 69 is in the middle of Survival Week, and will spend most of the week out in the woods. Survival Week is always a very memorable week of Basic, due in large part to the amount of deviation from the normal schedule. Also depending on the amount of rain that we get that week. Survival Week is often uncomfortable and unpredictable, and that is the point. While most of our students won’t leave here and make careers out of the survival skills they learned, the vast majority of our students will face uncomfortable and unpredictable seasons of life. Our goal in our training is not just for the here and now, so we can train the men to be good ALERT men today. Our goal is to prepare them for whatever life throws at them so they can be good husbands, fathers, employees, business owners, and members of their churches for the rest of their lives. Please pray for Unit 69 as they finish out Survival Week and the rest of Basic Training.
