Transportation

ALERT provides transportation to and from the airport or train station. We only require that you schedule your transportation needs around our predetermined dates and times, and submit the Transportation Form at least 14 days in advance of your arrival or departure.

2019 Arrival Dates:

  • Jan 5: Emergency Response Training, Leadership & Communication, EMT, Mobile Response Team, & Campus Support Team
  • Mar 9: BT Cadre
  • Mar 16: Tech Rescue, Diving, Aviation, Mobile Response Team, & Campus Support Team
  • Mar 21: Basic Training Unit 61
  • Jul 13: Emergency Response Training, Leadership & Communication, EMT, Diving, Mobile Response Team, & Campus Support Team
  • Sept 7: Fire Academy
  • Sept 14: BT Cadre
  • Sept 21: Aviation, Mobile Response Team, & Campus Support Team
  • Sept 26: Basic Training Unit 62

2019 Departure Dates:

  • Mar 16: Departure for ERT, EMT, Leadership & Communication, Mobile Response Team & Campus Support Team
  • May 25: Departure for Basic Training Unit 61
  • June 1: Departure for Tech Rescue, Diving, BT Cadre, Aviation, Mobile Response Team & Campus Support Team
  • Sept 21: Departure for ERT, Diving, EMT, Leadership & Communication, Mobile Response Team, & Campus Support Team
  • Nov 23: Departure for Basic Training Unit 62
  • Dec 7: Departure for Fire Academy, BT Cadre, Aviation, Mobile Response Team & Campus Support Team

Basic Training:

ALERT Transportation:
– Arrivals must be scheduled before 2:00 PM.
– Departures must be scheduled after 12:00 Noon.

Personal Transportation:
– Arrive on campus no later than 4 PM.
– Departure may be scheduled for any time after the Advancement Ceremony.

Battalion:

For those who have completed Basic Training.

ALERT Transportation:
– Arrivals must be scheduled before 2:00 PM.
– Departures must be scheduled after 12:00 Noon.

Personal Transportation:
– Arrive on campus no later than 4 PM.
– Departure may be scheduled after 6:00 AM the day after training ends.

Arrival/Departure Locations:

• ALERT Headquarters, Big Sandy (Personal Vehicle)
• Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport—DFW (Airplane)
• Dallas Love Field—DAL (Airplane)
• Mineola—Amtrak (Train)

Transportation Forms

Please submit the Transportation Form at least 14 days in advance of your arrival or departure.

If your travel arrangements are not within the specified parameters, you are responsible to find your own transportation to/from the airport. If this is the case, there are two main options:

Shuttle

The closest shuttle stop to the ALERT Campus is Lindale, TX.

Train
Use public transportation from the DFW airport to Union Station and take the train to Mineola, TX.
