We have a small, family-owned electrical business in Fayetteville, GA and are affiliated with the electrician’s union. Any former ALERT men interested would have the opportunity to go through the apprenticeship training and receive on-the-job training as well. The wages are set by the union and correspond to the apprentice’s school year. It is a five year program and upon completion an apprentice is a certified journeyman electrician and earns over $30/hour plus benefits (health insurance, pension). While in the apprenticeship program, wages increase from $11.75 to $21.50 plus benefits. The apprenticeship program requires one day of classroom training every two weeks. The rest is on-the-job training under the supervision of a journeyman. We work all over the metro Atlanta area so anyone interested would not have to be only in the Fayetteville area.
