Rick Warner was raised on a farm in northeastern Pennsylvania. He loved working outside with his father, and enjoyed all kinds of animals wild or domestic. At the age of 12 he heard about salvation through Jesus Christ and asked Christ into his life, and at 16 he began to take domestic and international missions trips. While overseas he worked in construction, famine relief, leading six-week-long work teams, and building a jungle airstrip. In January 1993 he and his wife Donna were married; five months later they arrived in Mongolia where they served for the next 20 years as church planters, reaching the Mongolian herdsman who lived in isolated areas. Rick, Donna, Alayna and Katy came to IAA in April of 2014, and in November Rick joined the ALERT Cadet department as the new Chief of Staff; he feels blessed by the opportunity God has given him to invest in the lives of young men.
