One of the ways we want our training to be fundamentally different than any other trade school or training program is our desire to have the Gospel at the center of everything we do. We want to ensure that every time we teach, talk, present, or instruct, we take our students back to the main thing—and that is the person Jesus. We want our students to know that Jesus is not just an idea, he is a person and he is alive. Jesus is “God with us”, and if our men get anything out of their time here, our goal is that they get more of him. I love how Paul talks about who this Jesus is in his letter to the Colossians:
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.” Colossians 1:15-20 (ESV)
This is the Jesus we want our men to follow and fall in love with.
