Endurance Hike

UNIT 75 ENDURANCE HIKE DATES
October 2026

COST

  • Complete Hike Package: $150
  • Meet at Trailhead: $50

SCHEDULE
The Unit will leave campus around 2 pm and drive up to Oklahoma. They will have dinner once they arrive at the trailhead, primitive camp for the night, eat breakfast, and start hiking around 6:00 am. The hike will continue for 24 hours and conclude around 6 am the following morning. The men will get a sack breakfast immediately after the hike finishes, load back up for the return trip, and will arrive back to campus by around 11 am.

TRANSPORTATION
You can either ride up to Oklahoma with the Unit, or meet them there. Please be aware that once the hike finishes and Basic Training returns to campus there are no indoor facilities of any kind available at the finish line. For this reason, we do not recommend that men planning to hike the entire hike meet the Unit in Oklahoma.

FOOD
Your hike registration cost covers all meals in Oklahoma. If you would like additional meals or campus lodging on either side of the hike, please reach out to Capt. Winkler to arrange them.

PACKING LIST
You will be primitive camping the night before the hike, so pack camping gear accordingly. You do not need to carry your camping gear on the hike; you may leave it in the logistics vehicles during the hike. The weather in that area of Oklahoma varies widely between day and night temperatures, and is often raining, so bring layers and rain gear. You can check the Heavener, OK weather forecast for an estimate as to the forecast, but the mountains are often a couple of degrees colder than the valley temperatures.
