Please note that filling out the application does not mean you have been accepted as a member of Battalion Leadership. Sergeant Major will be in touch with the next steps in the application process.

If you are offered a position as Battalion Leadership, you will need to pay the $200 confirmation deposit to officially accept the position, so please do not submit any payment until instructed by the Sergeant Major’s Department.

Battalion Leadership Expectations

I understand that if I have the opportunity to serve as Battalion Leadership, I will have responsibilities that require me to be up before my men each morning, and often stay up after they go to bed in the evening. Additionally, I will be responsible to maintain oversight of my men and know where they are at in terms of their personal responsibilities and weekly requirements, as well as their physical, spiritual, and emotional health. I understand that I will also be required to assist in all aspects of their training, including assisting the instructors with class prep and setup, instructing, grading, maintaining student safety in the field, and helping with studying and tests outside of class hours. Finally, as a volunteer at the ALERT Academy, I understand that I may also be tasked with any other duties assigned to me by the Sergeant Major’s Department as needed.(Required)

I also understand that I will be required to set an example for the men under my care in how I demonstrate the character required of a Christian, and how I uphold the standards and ethos of ALERT. I understand that ALERT may have a higher standard in some areas than my personal standards, and will abide by and verbally support ALERT’s standards while in a leadership position. I also understand that ALERT may have lower standards in some areas than my personal standards, and will not enforce or promote my own standards above ALERT's standards while in a leadership position.(Required)

As such, I understand that I am expected to live in full compliance with the letter and spirit of the regulations, and faithfully carry out their enforcement.
