God has designed us to need other Godly people in our lives to help us grow. Growth doesn’t occur alone. Instead, it happens as we are encouraged, challenged, and discipled by those around us. Just like a blade becomes sharp through consistent time on the whetstone, so we become sharpened as men through the influence of those we are around. The physical, mental, and spiritual challenges of ALERT, the time spent living and working together, and the shared purpose of pursuing Christ wholeheartedly, these all combine to provide a catalyst for deep, lasting friendships. At ALERT, we view fostering these kinds of relationships as an integral part of what we do, not just a byproduct.
