One of the most memorable moments of Basic Training for each unit is the day when they finally pass Saturday Inspection. After weeks of failing, and hours of frenzied cleaning, all the hard work the men put in pays off and they pass the inspection. Each unit only gets to experience the reward of passing because of the discipline they put into preparing for inspection. Discipline in life is rarely glamorous. It is choosing to get up before dark to read your Bible before work so that you can soak in the Gospel before tackling the chaos of life. It is the quiet consistency of doing the work God calls you to, even if no one notices or cares. Passing Saturday inspection is memorable, but the discipline built through preparing for inspection lasts a lifetime.
