Strong to Serve

Because Christ commands His followers to serve one another, service is a key component of what we do and is intentionally threaded throughout our training. As a 501(c)(3) organization, ALERT provides direct aid to citizens most affected by natural disasters or other crisis events, including those for whom immediate government assistance is unavailable. ALERT men have also provided a wide variety of services to public and private agencies.

Disaster Relief

ALERT frequently deploys teams on short notice to disaster-stricken areas, to assist local authorities in providing recovery aid to victims. Our goal is to make leaders successful while presenting the love of Christ through flexible, selfless public service.

Local Response

Applying the search-and-rescue skills taught in Basic Training, men in ERT are on-call to assist local sheriffs in emergency situations, such as lost-person searches.

Service Projects

Because Christ commands His followers to serve one another, service is at the heart of everything we do. ALERT service projects may take place in local communities, on our campus in Big Sandy, or even internationally in the form of humanitarian aid.

Request Assistance

The ALERT motto is “Strong To Serve,” and since its inception in 1994, ALERT has responded to over 700 requests for service.

Past deployments include:

  • Space Shuttle Columbia debris search and recovery
  • Haiti earthquake relief
  • Oklahoma City bombing recovery
  • Land & underwater searches and recovery of criminal evidence and missing persons
  • Recovery work from floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, ice storms, wild fires and other disasters.
